Customized Programs

  • SFE Roving Chef

Ready for a culinary adventure? The SFE Roving Chef program is already scheduling events for the 24/25 school year! During Roving Chef, students learn about food safety, recipe development, the importance of fresh ingredients and foundational cooking skills.

Working side by side to District Chef Marcus Guerrero, a scratch meal is prepared together. Professional chef hats, aprons, send-home recipes, class photos and award certificates upon class completion all make for an unforgettable student experience!

  • SFE Farmer's Market

Farmer’s Markets are a perfect example of nutrition education making a huge impact on students. These on-campus events consist of booths or tables, outdoors or indoors, where students are given the opportunity to sample fresh fruits and vegetables.

Like Roving Chef, Farmer’s Markets introduce students to new foods including new or unique ingredients from SFE’s culinary concepts. Students are provided education about nutrition and the farm-to-table connection.

  • SFE Taste Trailblazers

Gathering feedback from students is a core tenet of SFE and something we get really excited about! We are looking forward to scheduling taste tests as part of the SFE Taste Trailblazers program this upcoming SY.

Taste testing is a tool that can be used to introduce students to the smells, textures, and flavors of new foods. Students who participate try new recipes under consideration for the breakfast or lunch menu. In addition to student surveys, the Taste Trailblazers program helps us create innovative menus that are customized to their feedback.

  • Food Truck Events

Did you know that Plainview ISD has a food truck? Events serve as a great way for all Plainview students to receive the experience, no matter their resources outside of school.

On food truck days, a special menu is developed to be served outside. Students enjoy the fresh air and exciting menu options.

Our calendars are currently open! Please see the link for booking info.
